Hot Networking Tool – Your Personal QR code

leave a comment »

New jobseekers focus much of their new technology training on learning Linkedin.  And for good reason – it’s an important channel for getting the word out on the amazing talent you want to share with the world.  However, successful job search is similar to launching a new product in the marketplace – it takes multiple channels to reach a buyer.

So increase your the power of your job search campaign by adding  your personal QR code to your networking tools.

QR codes are all the rage for sharing information about companies, products and YOU!

Create and customize your own QR code, and embed in your business cards, resume contact header, email signature and other personal branding materials.  The recipient scans your code through their smart phone bar code scanner, and are brought to a site featuring your YOU!

There’s a lot of sites that provide QR codes,  but one I like is www.jumpscan.com

At an event, access your bookmarked www.jumpscan barcode on your smartphone (you do have one, don’t you?) – your new contact scans the bar code in their phone, and accesses your contact information.  (Here’s another fun networking tool – download the  www.bump.com app, and simply bump phones.)

Becoming savvy at technology will make you stand out from your competition.  Show it off!
